School Growth Plan
A school leader may elect the School Growth Plan (SGP) service, which is tailored to align with the OSF Rubrics of Excellence, a performance assessment tool we use to help schools improve in the areas of Communications, Operations, and Resources Development. When schools excel in these areas, we believe the conditions are right for the high-quality instruction and rich learning environment that foster student achievement. A recent longitudinal study illustrates that OSF SGP schools that have improved on the Rubrics have also recorded student achievement growth that outpaces district averages.
The SGP is a customized full-service plan organized by “COR” services in Communications, Operations, and Resources Development:
Communications Services
Schools need comprehensive plans for communicating to their families and students and to reach out to potential donors and grantors, neighbors around their school, and community partners. OSF develops tailored communications plans with school leaders that include creation of marketing collateral (newsletters, fact sheets, brochures), websites, and events announcements. OSF also helps schools design and host special events and site visits.
Operational Services
OSF supports schools in strategic planning and provides tailored organizational and leadership coaching for school leaders. OSF develops operational tools for schools including job descriptions, task lists, organizational charts, and performance evaluation and finance management tools. OSF encourages schools to develop very focused strategic plans that they can execute and measure.
Resources Development Services
OSF encourages schools to participate in on-going Resources Development; expert coaching is available to help schools create fund development plans and maximize their capacity for fundraising.
OSF provides expert grants development, writing, and reporting. When OSF develops a grant on behalf of the school we prepare a monitoring and evaluation plan to ensure grants funds are used to support student achievement.
OSF also helps schools create Individual Giving Campaigns to raise unrestricted money for schools’ most under-funded needs. We support schools in campaign strategy and donor cultivation. Finally, OSF Resources Development services include partnership development for schools. We help schools broker community partnerships that support school programs and fundraising.
